In this video, you are going to discover some exercises that will train you to serve over the net.
First, we are going to see an exercise for the underhand serve, then one for the overhand serve.
Firstly, let’s look at an exercise for the underhand serve.
Stand 4 metres away from the net. Another partner can stand on the other side of the net and do the exercise with you.
Adopt the underhand serve position.
Serve several times by hitting the ball away from you in as straight a line as possible.
As soon as you master this step, move backwards and serve approximately 6.5 metres away from the net.
Finally, carry out the exercise from a distance of 9 metres, behind the baseline.
Secondly, an exercise for the overhand serve.
Stand approximately 4 metres away from the net.
Adopt the overhand serve position.
Serve in a straight line to your partner several times.
Once you master this step, repeat the exercise at approximately 6.5 metres away from the net, then at 9 metres from the net, behind the baseline.
It is important to practise serving because it is the opening phase of every game. Over to you!
