In this video, you will learn how to work on your short, placed passes.
You will need three partners
The aim of this exercise is to ensure a high-quality pass. Here are 2 situations to try out: passing to one side, then passing on both sides
First situation, passing to one side
Position yourself in the middle of the court at the net like a setter
Your first partner positions themself like the receiver of a serve, on the same side of the court as you, in the centre of the court and just in front of the baseline.
Your second partner stands like an attacker, at the net to the left side of the court
Your first partner throws the ball in a high arch
Bring your foot closes to the net forwards before you make your pass and turn your body in the direction of your second partner
Receive the ball overhand and send it your second partner over the heads
They should be able to jump to catch the ball
Repeat the sequence with several balls, making several passes
Vary this step this time positioning them on the right hand side of the court
In this case, bring your left foot, that's closest to the net, forward -before you make the pass
Second situation, pass the ball on both sides
Bring in your third partner
Stay in the same places as before but add in your 3 partner as a second attacker at the net, on the free side
the partner throwing the ball shouts out to which side you should make your pass while throwing the ball to you
in this step, ,you should adopt your body position quickly to make a precise pass to either one of your partners at the net.
Repeat this exercise several times
Do the best possible pass so that your attacking team mate can win the point. Over to you!
