In this video, you will learn the Nerve Purifying Breathing Technique, also known as Nadi Shodhana.
Sit cross-legged with your back straight.
Place the back of your left wrist on your left knee and touch the tips of your thumb and index finger.
Fold the index and middle fingers of your right hand into your palm.
Use your ring and little finger to regulate the opening of your left nostril and your thumb to do the same for your right nostril.
Leave your right nostril open and shut your left nostril.
Slowly, empty out your lungs through the right nostril.
Now, slowly and steadily, inhale through your right nostril till your lungs are full.
Close the right nostril and release the left nostril.
Exhale, slowly and steadily, emptying out your lungs.
Now, inhale gradually, filling up your lungs through the left nostril.
Once again, block the left nostril and release your right nostril.
As your technique gets better, add a stage for retention of each breath with both nostrils shut.
Starting your count with inhalation through the right nostril and ending it with exhalation through the right nostril, complete 5-10 cycles without straining yourself.
Try to breathe through both nostrils for the same duration.
