This video will give you instructions to perform the Cowpose, Gomukhasana.
The information represented in this series will initiate beginners to the practice of Yoga.
In the next video, you will learn to the Bound Angle Pose.
Gomukhasana loosens your shoulders and back, and also increases the flexibility of your legs.
However, the techniques described in this series are not meant to be prescriptive.

In this video, you will learn the Cow Pose, also known as Gomukhasana.
Sit down on the ground with your legs extended in front of you.
Fold your right leg over your left thigh.
Now, fold your left knee and pull both heels to the opposite hip.
Align your knees vertically with each other.
Fold your left arm and reach from below to the middle of your back.
Inhale and fold your right arm from over your shoulder and try to clasp the fingers of both hands together at the center of your back.
Pull your shoulders apart and stretch as far as you can without feeling discomfort.
Breathe naturally and remain in this position for 20-30 seconds before slowly releasing.
Now repeat the pose by swapping sides.
If your find it difficult to clasp your hands, use a belt or rope to pull them together as close as you can.

You have now learnt Gomukhasana, the Cow Pose.
