In this video you will learn how to make a baseball pass. This is a long one-handed pass used during fast breaks to get past the defense at speed.

To make a good baseball pass, remember these two points: preparing the pass and throwing the ball, moving your body forwards.

First, preparing the ball.

Bending your knees, step forward on your opposite foot to your passing hand, with your shoulders turned towards the sideline.

Draw the ball back next to your ear, raising your elbow up to shoulder-level.

Secondly, throwing the ball, moving your body forwards.

Push off with your back foot, bringing it in front of the other, turning your shoulders in line with the centre of court.

During this movement, stretch your arm forward. At the end of the movement, it should be fully extended.

Your shoulders should finish facing your partner, with your hand in their direction, fingers pointing down towards the ground.

To avoid the ball being intercepted, be careful not to throw the ball too high.

In order that your partner doesn't have to slow down, the ball should fall directly in front of them.

To make a good baseball pass, adopt a swift, fluid motion to get enough power behind the throw. Over to you!
