In this video we are going to teach you how to plaster a wall so as to prepare for painting.
Plastering the wall before painting it will ensure that your final results are of a high quality, free of imperfections.
You will need: protective canvases, masking tape, sandpaper, a Stanley knife, a bucket of water, wall scraper and putty knives.
STEP 1: PROTECTING
Protect any windows, light switches and electrical outlets with the canvases and masking tape.
Be careful to cut off all electricty in the room before covering the switches and power outlets.
STEP 2: PREPARING THE PLASTER
Mix the powder and water together until you obtain a smooth paste.
STEP 3: APPLYING THE PLASTER
Spread the plaster on a putty knife and apply to the wall in wide steady strips.
STEP 4: SANDING AND DUSTING
Sand back the entire plastered surface with sandpaper, then dust it.
Your wall is now ready to be painted.
