In this video you will learn how to hit a forehand hairpin net shot.
The forehand hairpin net shot is hit from forecourt to forecourt, to counter a good drop shot.
The shuttle trajectory resembles that of a hairpin saddled over the net.
The three key steps are the preparation, the shot and the recovery.
Step 1 - The preparation.
Use a forehand grip.
Start with a split step and side-step forward towards the net.
Lunge on the racket foot and extend the non racket arm behind.
You should be on the toes of your rear foot to help you balance.
Bend the wrist so that the head of your racket is angled downward below your hand with the palm facing upward.
It's important to bend from the knees and be still before the impact, as your forward momentum could land the shuttle into the net.
Step 2 - The shot.
Place the racket with the head facing up below the shuttle.
Push the shuttle gently upward so that it falls just over and close to the net.
Step 3 - The recovery.
After the hairpin net shot, get into the ready position and be prepared for the return.
Practice your forehand hairpin net shot until you manage hitting it close to the net.
Enjoy your game! .
