In this video, you will discover a simple exercise to help you practice popping your skateboard.
It involves, quite simply, picking up your skateboard by popping the tail with your foot
It’s a very common way of picking up your board, which at the same time, will help you gauge your pops
Stand behind your board.
Hold up your hand, palm facing forwards, ready to catch the nose
With the toes of one of your feet, push down sharply and quickly on the back of the tail.
Start with a small pop, then gradually apply more and more force, until you can catch the nose.
Be careful not to push down too hard, as you could get hurt if the board is not under control.
Repeat this exercise until you can gauge the force of the pop perfectly
Once you’ve mastered this with one foot, try it with the other one.
A good pop will serve you well when learning lots of different tricks.
Over to you!
