Serious wound
In this video, you will learn to administer first aid for a serious wound.
First Aid Techniques:
Wash your hands
Gloves
- Wash your hands with clean water and put on gloves if available.
3 - Cover the wound
- Cover the wound with sterile gauze pads or clean cloth.
If there is a foreign object in the wound, do not try to remove or move it, as this could worsen the injury.
Apply pressure to the wound if it is bleeding and there are no foreign objects in it.
4 – Alert the emergency services
- Call the emergency services and follow their advice.
A wound is serious if it is deep, it has a foreign object in it, it is located near a body orifice, or there is severe bleeding or bruising.
