UPCYCLING: How to Make a TV Stand from Wooden Pallets
In this video we are going to learn how to make a television stand from a wooden pallet.
We will need:
A pallet and 4 castor wheels, a measuring tape, a saw, a sander, some sandpaper, a crowbar, a mallet, a hammer, some 50mm (2") nails, some screws and a screwdriver.
In this example we will make a stand measuring 120 centimetres (4ft) in length, and 40 centimetres (1ft 4") in width.
Start by turning over the pallet, and use the saw to remove the bottom deckboards.
Use the crowbar to remove the three blocks aligned in the middle of the pallet.
Bend any nails which are sticking out over
Next, remove the remaining board pieces on the blocks.
Use the crowbar to remove the nails carefully,
to avoid damaging or detaching any of the wood below.
Cut the pallet in half, lengthwise.
Now, sand all of the wood.
Position one section on top of the other. Make sure they are aligned correctly.
Nail them together at the blocks.
Attach the castor wheels to each corner.
Your television stand is now finished!
