Did you know that we have a whole upcycling program on our website? It's free, check it out:
"Orange Blossom Honey" by Lawrence Blatt
In this video you are going to learn how to build a chair using wooden pallets.
You will need: 3 pallets, a tape measure, a pencil, a handsaw, a sander, a few sheets of sandpaper, an electric screwdriver and some screws.
The first stage consists of dismantling the pallets. You can see how this is done in our video "How to dismantle a pallet".
Sand each wooden plank.
Separate all the pieces and group together: 2 90cm planks (36") 2 40cm planks (16") 6 35cm planks (14") 2 37cm planks (15") 2 thick wooden planks measuring 40cm (16") and 2 wooden pieces for the sides of the chair.
Screw a 40cm plank at a right angle on one end of the thick wooden plank.
Attach a 90cm (36") plank on the other end.
It should be attached at 40cm (16") from the base in order that the chair sits straight.
Repeat the process for the other half of the chair.
Now join the two sides using the 35cm (14") planks.
Attach more planks of wood to the underside of the chair in order to strengthen the structure.
Attach the 37cm (15") planks to make the back of the chair
Measure the distance on the sides separating the chair legs.
Once measured, cut two planks of wood at the desired length and attach these to the sides of the chair. Their role, although purely aesthetic, will give the chair a finished look.
Your chair is now finished!
