In this video you will learn how to dismount from a bike.
Developing a good technique will help you be efficient and safe on the trail.
The three key steps are: unclipping your right foot, swinging the right foot forward, unclipping your left foot.
Step 1.
When the left foot is in the 6 o'clock position, swing the right leg back over the rear wheel.
Step 2.
Swing your right foot forward between the bike and your left foot.
Remember to keep your knees slightly bent.
Step 3.
As you place the right foot on the ground and unclip your left foot, if you have clipless pedals, start running, right foot first.
Avoid dismounting with the left foot as you could end up getting grease from the chain on your leg.
Check out our video on how to mount a bike.
Beginners might want to start off dismounting by landing with their right leg, bring it around the back of the left leg first, before moving on to the more advanced dismount technique.
On a trail you might encounter obstacles or terrain on which you can't ride.
Practice dismounting and mounting efficiently to keep up the momentum.
Enjoy your ride .
