Warming up before a round of golf
In this video, you will learn how to warm up before playing a round of golf.
To do this, you will need a golf club, preferably an iron.
Golf is demanding for both the muscles and the joints.
A good warm up will prepare your body gently for the physical effort and will help you to loosen up and concentrate, which is vital for a successful round of golf.
We will show you two exercises.
The first aims to warm up the lower back, while the second aims to warm up the upper back and the shoulders.
For the first exercise, place your club behind your hips, just above your pelvis, with the palms of your hands against the grip and the shaft.
Now do a double rotation like a swing, with one leg bent and the other straight.
Rotate from side to side for about 30 seconds.
Second exercise, place your club behind your shoulders, with your palms against the grip and the shaft.
Now do pelvic rotations, alternating the two sides, for 30 seconds.
Now you are ready to play! Over to you!
