Start by making a diagonal crease.
Then fold the other way like this.
Next, open and fold the corner onto the center.
Be careful and precise.
Repeat for the other side.
Then fold this part to the center.
Ensure the crease is properly made through all layers of the paper.
Repeat for the other side.
Here’s the new shape you get.
Fold it in half, like so.
Now fold this point to the center line. This crease is harder to make since you already have lots of folds.
Repeat for the other side.
Once you have this shape, unfold this part, open, and fold inward.
Same thing here.
Now you have this shape.
Open it like this, here.
Fold it.
Do the same thing on the other side.
Make sure the creases are well-made.
Now, fold this side towards the central line. Do the same thing for the 3 remaining sides.
Here’s the shape you should get. Open it to get this shape. Next, we need to make a rather difficult adjustment: shape the center into a square by pushing on it while pulling on the sides.
Do this gently to keep the center square from coming undone.
Now you have a great paper bow tie. You can easily substitute it for a real one at all types of events!
