Professional reintegration with Emmaus
According to the International Labour Organization, the number of unemployed people is likely to rise to 212 million in 2019 from 201 million beginning 2015, an increase of 5.5% in 4 years.
The Emmaus movement facilitates professional integration by welcoming marginalized people and training them to restore furniture.
There is a huge shortage of trainers and Sikana co-created and educational program to train 400 people each year.
The traditional training method with textbooks is not ideal. Video is a powerful and effective medium to demonstrate a practical skill and is extremely useful for the people at Emmaus' workshops.
